Drowning in a sea of violent self deprecating thoughts and feelings. Head above water, barely. The dark abyss of loneliness pulling on his will, sinking him. In silence he waits, unwilling to move. Afraid that if he does he will fall endlessly to his death. The death of his soul.
His thoughts betray him, so he withdraws within himself, knowing that it is the only way to avoid outward conflict and pain. He deals inwardly, conflicted, in pain, wading through murky thoughts and feelings of hopelessness.
There is no relief. No one can lift his burden. No hand can save him. No soul can soothe his pain.
It is HIS silent withdrawal…
